Canada Day fireworks will be set off later in the evening on July 1st around 10pm. They can be seen from Rainer and the riverside if you’re watching from the U.S.

13th Annual Grindstone Island Boat Parade

One of the most anticipated events of the holiday weekend is the 13th Annual Grindstone Island Boat Parade on Rainy Lake. Boats of all sizes cruise across the lake decorated in patriotic red, white, and blue, creating a festive display of community spirit and Fourth of July pride.

Spectators can watch from their boats or gather at Sha Sha Resort, Island View Lodge, or Thunderbird Lodge to enjoy the colorful procession. Weather permitting, the parade begins at 6:00 p.m. at Grindstone Island and travels past the lakeside resorts.
