Harry Oveson Fish Camp is a unique Visitor Destination site that offers a glimpse into the rugged, hardworking life of commercial fishing on Rainy Lake. Once home to commercial fisherman Harry Oveson, the camp stands as a lasting reminder of the grit, independence, and connection to the lake that defined his way of life in Voyageurs National Park.

Today, visitors can experience the same sense of seclusion Harry knew. This day-use site features a picnic table and fire ring, making it a perfect spot for a shore lunch while soaking in Voyageurs’ fishing history. Take a peek inside the ice house, relax by the water, watch for birds, and enjoy a quiet moment on Rainy Lake—just as Harry once did.
